Nestled away on the coast of East Lothian sits a manor, waiting eagerly to open it’s doors to you from the 8th-10th May to celebrate the Enchanted Rose Ball. Prince Damion and Lady Rosaline have one last chance to save the prince from his fate – Becoming a beast permanently. Each night at the sound of the nearby church bells, he transforms into his disfigured form and hides until the sun returns, restoring him to his royal appearance. The pair now invite anyone who has been part of a fairytale to join them in an attempt to lift the curse! Can you help them live happily ever after?
Before the Ball
Fuel Up: We recommend going out for a meal before the event begins. You can also bring snacks to eat in the garden!
Getting dressed: Please come in your outfit, we are unable to allow changing once you arrive at the venue. Please ensure that your clothing is appropriately adhering to formalwear standards. No trainers, mini skirts, T-Shirts or jeans will be permitted. Guests who do not come dressed for a ball may have to change or find appropriate clothing. (Exception: Those who take the coach can put their crinolines/wings/large accessories on when they arrive in the coat check restroom).
Weapons: Any prop weapons need to meet LARP standards of being padded foam on the outside. Any projectile prop weapons such as a bow must not have the arrow. Please do not start any duels with your prop weapons.

Entering Gosford House
Gosford House can only be accessed on the A198. If you are approaching from Edinburgh, you will find the gates on your right hand side. The gates will open at 15:00 on Friday and 14:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Once you enter the gates, take the next right and follow the signs to drop off/parking.
If you plan on taking a taxi, PLEASE PRE-BOOK as taxis aren’t likely to drop off and collect this far without pre-booking.

Coach Collection
Coach collection takes place IN FRONT of West Register House, 17 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh EH2 4DF. (Please do not enter the house, it is not affiliated with this event). Guests should arrive to coach collection 15-20 minutes before their collection times. Please check your ticket to ensure you have selected the correct time. Departure times are 14:00 (Sat & Sun Only), 15:30 (Sat & Sun Only) and 16:30 (All dates). The bus will leave precisely at departure time. Please remove all crinolines/petticoats/wings and other large accessories before entering the coach.
Exploring the Grounds & Parking
If guests arrive before their entry slot, they are more than welcome to explore all that the grounds have to offer. You can also bring a picnic with you!
Here are the entry times for each tier:
- Legend Tier – 15:00
- Chronicle Tier – 16:30
- Fable Tier – 17:30

Legend Tier
Guests of this tier will be welcome to enter at 15:00 into the venue. Afternoon tea is from 15:00-16:00 in the Saloon. Each table is themed after a different fairytale and the atmosphere is accompanied by a live harpist playing your favourite fairytale melodies. Seating is pre-arranged based on those who submitted their seating forms to us.
Chronicle Tier
Guests from this tier are welcome to enter from 16:30 to enjoy the venue in a laid back environment. DSLR cameras and tripods are welcome to be used from 16:30-17:30 throughout the venue during this time.
Coat Check
Guests are able to drop their items off at coatcheck from 17:00 on Friday and 14:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Coat check can be accessed initially from the outside of the building in the driveway. If you want to collect items during the ball itself, you will be able to access coat check through the Marble Room (Not during performances that may close off the ground floor). Please note that coat check can accommodation small/medium bags, cloaks, wings and jackets. We unfortunately cannot accommodate suitcases. After coat check, head into the front yard to get your wristband.
Wristband Collection
To collect your wristband for the ball, please make your way from the driveway into the front yard. Please make sure to have your QR Code and ID ready. You can use any ID that shows your face and age. Wristband collection begins at 17:00 on Friday and from 14:30 on Saturday and Sunday. If you collect your wristband prior to your entry time, you are able to skip the lines once the ball begins.

The Front Yard
The festivities begin at 17:30 in the Front Yard. As you promenade on the grass and greet your fellow guests, you will be offer a glass of prosecco (Or a non-alcoholic alternative). At 17:55, your hosts, Lady Rosaline and Lord Damion shall address their audience and toast to the beginning of the evening before guiding guests inside.
Horses with the Knights Vault
You might notice some hoofed creatures awaiting you for a picture. Grab a sword from the Knights Vault and snap a couple of memories with beautiful horses with a stunning backdrop of the stately home behind you. The horses will be in attendance from 17:30 to 20:00 and the Knight’s Vault will be there from 17:30-23:00.
Glitter Face Artistry
From 18:00-22:45 – Get a glitter face design that compliments your evening for the night with our wonderful glitter face painters! They will be at their booth all night long, ready to help you shine.
Fan Making
From 17:30-22:45 – This self-guided activity gives you the chance to design your very own fan! Stop by and draw a pattern onto a fan and take it home after the ball!
The Fire Folk Ceremony
From 21:30-21:50 – To break the spell that cursed our dear Prince Damion, we must begin with cleansing his sins through fire. The Fire Folk are here to burn away the ashes of the past in a spellbinding performance.

The Ritual to Break the Curse
At 21:50, head to the Front Yard for the most important moment of the evening. Lady Rosaline asks you all to help her break the spell together in a joint enchantment. The ritual calls for the enchantment to be performed just moments before his transformation. Will he make it or will he remain a beast forever? That is for you to find out. Whatever happens, keep your eyes on the skies.

The Marble Room
A beautiful space inspired by Italian palaces, the Marble Room is our Cabaret for the evening, playing through a variety of shows and performances that shall surprise and delight.
Contortionist
From 18:30–19:00, a forest sprite bends in ways that defy human nature that makes the room feel like it’s in another world.
Dance of Fate
At 19:10, watch a dance performance that truly tells a story of passion and fate between two star crossed lovers.
Harpist
From 19:30, listen as the melodies of the harp echo throughout the room, playing romantic fairytale music sure to enchant each and all.

From 20:15-20:45, get to know Clíodhna O’Sullivan, and the wonderful world she created in her new book, ‘Her Hidden Fire’ at a moderated Q&A Panel. Have a question about the book or writing process? Questions will be open to the floor too!
Christian Brighty’s Comedy Show
Christian Bright takes on Gosford House at 21:00. Christian Brighty is an award-winning comedian who pretends to be a Lord because he looks great in riding boots.
Creator and star of BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Many Wrongs of Lord Christian Brighty’, his sitcom was nominated for Best Radio Show at the Chortle Awards 2025, and listed in The i’s Best Radio Comedies Ever.His videos about Jane Austen, Poldark and the aristocracy (@brightybuoy) have received over 250 million views, been nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award, and secured his name as TikTok’s Mr Darcy.
Acrobats
At 22:15, some local forest fairies bestow a gift to the hosts by showcasing their talents. See how they defy the laws of nature and physics through their strength and magic.
Mystic Fate Merch Shop
From 17:30-23:00 – The Merch Shop helps our team keep running these events. Find fun fantasy themed items that delight and enchant! If you pre-ordered the Enchanted Rose Official T-Shirt or are part of the Chronicle or Legend Tier, you can collect yours from the merch shop! Items purchased at the Merch Shop can also be stored there until the end of the evening.
Darcey Flo Live Painting
From 17:30-23:00 – An artist and illustrator from the British Countryside, Darcey Finch creates paintings and illustrations that inspire magic. Watch as she creates a world through the strokes of her paintbrush. Darcey will be live painting at the ball, as well as selling prints as well!
Special Note about the Marble Room
This beautiful room was historically used to showcase a beautiful private collection of art. For that reason, the venue asks guests to not take photos of specific art pieces (In which one piece of art is the only thing in the photo).
Saloon
Welcome to the Saloon! You might notice that this room looks a bit different than the rest of the house. Upon the first night that Prince Damion was inflicted with his curse, he recked the Saloon in a fit of rage. In this commotion, a candle tripped and sparked a flame, causing the entire room to burn down. The Prince now wants to bring joy back into this room with laughter and love.
Afternoon Tea (Sat & Sun Only)
Legend tier ticket holders shall enjoy their afternoon tea in this beautiful setting from 15:00-16:00. It shall then briefly close for 20 minutes to allow the house fairies to reset it.

Historical Dance & Live Quartet
From 18:00-20:30, learn steps to historical dances with the Symphony of Lost of Hope. No dance experience? No problem! All the steps are explained by our wonderful dance instructor, Rob, who will be bringing you dances from across different fairytales.
Costume Coronation
At 20:30, we ask all those who have made their own outfits for the evening to join us in the Saloon. Our hosts would like to honour anyone who handcrafted their garments. And, one lucky guest will be crowned as the host’s favourite costume – The outfit that most encapsulates the spirit of the ball.
DJ
From 20:30-23:00, our DJ takes the stage to play you a mix of whimsical folk, girlie pop and fantasy anthems. Twirl around the ballroom and let loose as your most epic self.
The Dining Room

Capture your outfit through the eyes of a fairy flying around you.
Photo Booth
The photo booth has a beautiful background including furniture and draping inspired by baroque paintings. Capture a memory feeling your most regal self.
Euriell Vaire Creations
From 18:00-20:30 – Receive a personalised fashion illustration of your OC character or dream fantasy dress from this iconic fantasy ballgown designer.

House of YA Booth in the Octogon
Meet Clíodhna O’Sullivan, author of the first book in the ‘Her Hidden Fire’ series, a romantasy trilogy perfect for fans of A LANGUAGE OF DRAGONS and THE PRIORY OF THE ORANGE TREE. The first 150 people to purchase a copy of the book will have a chance to spin a Wheel of Fortune and win prizes valued up to £155.00. O’Sullivan will also be signing books at 18:45 and 19:45.
Billiards Room
The Billiards Room is the home of the main bar for the evening. Both non-alcoholic drinks, spirits and cocktails can be purchased here. From 21:00, guests will also be able to buy Mac & Cheese bowls and other snacks too! Last call at the bar is 22:30.
Medusa’s Speakeasy
Before the house was owned by Prince Damion, it is said that it was briefly home to Medusa, the woman with snakes that can turn humans to stone. A few of those men & women still remain in the basement of the home, always watching with their petrified eyes. Do you dare descend to the basement and explore? If you do, you will find fortune tellers from 18:00-23:00 and a bar from 17:30-22:30.
End of the Evening
At 23:00, we sadly must say goodbye. All guests should collect any items they purchased from booths and collect their things from coat check. Please do be quick if you are taking the coach! Coach collection is at 23:15 in the driveway.
Other Important Information
Professional Photography & Videography
Our wonderful photographer, Liz, will be on site to take pictures. While she tries to capture every single guest, she might not spot you! When she isn’t capturing a key moment, feel free to ask her to take a picture of you! She will help you pose and make you feel comfortable but elegant. Photos will be sent 2-3 weeks after the ball.
We will also have our videographer, Bo, on site filming for our social media and website. We unfortunately are not able to give any videos directly of guests, instead, you can catch them on our accounts after the ball. Please do not request for him to take videos.
How do you find a staff member?
Our team members and volunteers are wearing yellow glowing armbands. We are here to help!
When will canapés be served?
Canapés are served between 18:00-21:00 throughout the house. If you have a dietary requirement, simply head to the bar and request canapés that suit your dietary needs.
